Maximilianeum, Bavarian Government in Munich
The Maximilianeum was built in the Renaissance style with round arches, columns and mosaics (completed in 1874) and is located in Munich's Haidhausen district on the high banks of the river Isar. In summertimes the "Royal Bavarian Sunday Brunch" takes place in the Bavarian Government Landtag on the first floor of the historic arcades. Between 1 pm and 3 pm free guided tours will be held by the Bavarian state parliament. Unfortunately, the unglazed outer wings of the second floor with breathtaking views of the skyline of Munich, the Isar and the Angel of Peace can not be entered. The plenary hall of the Bavarian Landtag is rather simple. The Premium Location Maximilianeum is first-rate for birthday parties and family celebrations, the buffet of the state-run restaurant is rather medium. Since 1876, the Maximilianeum has housed the Maximilianeum Foundation for highly gifted students from Bavaria.
