Tens of thousands, OAPs (old age pensioners) have fun every day on the long sandy beach of Maspalomas, often stark naked and completely disinhibited as little children, while the working population in Germany is almost crushed by the giant taxes and social security.
Nevertheless, Gran Canaria is worth a trip, not only because of the magnificent mountain world. Wildly romantic Barankos, like the great American model, the Grand Canyon not dissimilar, characterize the island. So it is not surprising that here quite a few westerns were filmed.
In this lonely mountain scenery, the hikers and nature lovers escape the tourist crowds of Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas quickly.
