The Canary Island of La Palma is a true paradise for hikers. There are thousands of trails of varying difficulty, all in very good condition and with excellent signage. |
Ruta de los Volcanos:
The starting point is the car park at the Refugio El Pilar (1450 m). The breathtaking tour takes in about 6 1/2 hours via the Crater del Hoyo Negro, the Crater del Duraznero with the pitch black volcanic crater of El Fraile, Volcán Deseada I and II (1949 m), Volcán Martin (1602 m) downto Fuencaliente (722 m).
Pico Birigoyo (1807 m):
Unique vegetation with stone plants on the steep ascent edge to the summit of Pico Birigoyo.
Caldera de Taburiente:
Pico de la Nieve (2239 m)
The Pico de la Nieve (Snow Mountain) provides a spectacular view of the eruption crater Caldera de Taburiente and on the east coast.
Roque de los Muchachos (2426 m)
Mirador Los Brecitos (1150 m)
Mirador de la Cumbrecita:
At the car park at the Mirador de la Cumbrecita (1287 m) starts a very nice one-hour circular walk to the Mirador de las Chozas.
Mirador del Time:
Could be that time stands still here in this magic place. Magnificent viewpoint above Los Llanos and Tazacorte, nice Café.
Accomodation in Los Cancajos, Tazacorte or Puerto Naos. Rural properties in all price ranges are scattered all over the island.
