Negombo beach

In Negombo we visit a big fishing harbour at the channel and a fish market with dryfish produktion. A singhalese snake charmer shows us his terrific spitting king cobra. He also shows us a little monkey. The monkey is very anxious, because the cobra indeed is his deadly enemy.
People in the region between Colombo and Negombo are mostly Christians. On nearly every street corner we find life-sized figures of saints. The Apostel Petrus guardes the fish market in Negombo.
