Hiking onto Mihintale mountainThe GPS track shows the little tour starting at Anuradhapura. Thousands of Sinhalese pilgrims come to Poson Full Moon Festival in June to Mihintale mountain. According to legend, King Devanampiya Tissa (250 - 210 BC) appears a white deer during the hunt. As the deer disappeared, instead appeared the monk Mahinda, son of the Indian emperor Ashoka in front of him and converted him to Buddhism.
