Queenstown - Steamship tour on Lake Wakatipu
Very nice is the evening trip with the steamer TSS Earnslaw on Lake Wakatipu. For 5 minutes I was allowed to play captain on the 100 year old and perfectly restored steamboat. The bridge with the highly polished brass instruments is worth seeing. From a catwalk you can take a look into the engine room. The nostalgic atmosphere on the classic car is enhanced by a live piano player.
The excellent dinner took place at Walter Peak's Restaurant on the opposite shore of the lake. Ironically, on the short way to the restaurant was a downpour and we received all "Walter Peak" umbrellas. |
