Ceylon tea for the world
The Ceylonese mountain country around Nuwara Eliya is perfect for the cultivation of tea at an altitude 1000-2000 m. Picking tea is the domain of Tamil women. Hundredthousands of Tamils from southern India have been recruited for picking tea in Sri Lanka by British colonial masters.
