VW Autocity Wolfsburg - from coal harbour to Boomtown

Green hills rise up between the Lagunas of Mitlandcanal and Theme pavillons. During the constuction of the VW Autocity the former factory premises were rebuild to a living Parklandscape, in which the visitors should feel themselves comfortable. 'Humans, Autos and what they feel about' - so reads the Moto of this Themeparks Autocity.
On 1th of Juni 2000 the Autocity opened the doors. Initiator was at that time the VW Konzernchef Ferdinand Piech, builder was the Autocity business manager Otto Ferdinand Wachs. The Autocity ist eine Erfolgsstory der Superlative - mehr als 20 Millionen Menschen haben sie bereits besucht.

Industrial memorial VW power plant

Ein Rundgang durch die Autocity Wolfsburg ist wie eine architektonische Zeitreise. Das aus red bricks erbaute power plant am Mittelland channel mit seinen markanten Schornsteinen ist eine Ikone alten Industriebaus.

VW factory tour

Every 20 until 30 seconds rollt a brandnew mit Roboterunterstützung gebauter VW Golf vom Band im VW-Werk Wolfsburg. Faszinierend ist die einstündige factory tour, auf der zum Schutz der Privatsphäre der Mitarbeiter nicht fotografiert oder gefilmt werden darf.
